Terms of Service

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use the Services. By using the Services, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using the Services on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Description of Services

androidtester.io is a platform that connects Android app developers ("Developers") with real testers ("Testers") to fulfill Google Play's closed testing requirements. The Services include:

• App submission and management tools for Developers
• Automated tester matching and assignment
• Daily screenshot verification and proof-of-work tracking
• AI-generated feedback reports
• A credit-based barter system for free-tier users
• Payment processing for premium services

3. Account Registration

3.1. You may register using Google OAuth or email/password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

3.2. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information as necessary.

3.3. You are solely responsible for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

3.4. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information or violate these Terms.

4. Developer Obligations

4.1. You must provide accurate app information, including a valid Google Play Package ID and closed testing opt-in URL.

4.2. Your app must comply with Google Play's Developer Program Policies and all applicable laws and regulations.

4.3. You are solely responsible for setting up your closed testing track correctly in Google Play Console.

4.4. You must not submit apps that contain malware, spyware, or any harmful code that could damage testers' devices.

4.5. You acknowledge that the Services facilitate testing but do not guarantee that Google will approve your app for production access.

5. Tester Obligations

5.1. You must use a physical Android device. The use of emulators, virtual machines, or automated tools is strictly prohibited.

5.2. You must join the platform's Google Group as part of the onboarding process.

5.3. You must complete daily check-ins by uploading genuine, fresh screenshots taken on the same day.

5.4. Uploading fake, recycled, manipulated, or AI-generated screenshots constitutes fraud and will result in immediate account termination and forfeiture of all credits and pending payments.

5.5. Missing 3 consecutive daily check-ins will result in automatic removal from the testing assignment without compensation.

5.6. You must complete the UX survey honestly and in good faith on Day 14.

6. Payments, Fees, and Refunds

6.1. Premium Tier: Developers pay a one-time flat fee via Stripe before testers are assigned. All prices are in USD and are displayed at the time of purchase.

6.2. Refund Policy: Refunds are issued solely at the discretion of androidtester.io administrators. Refunds may be considered if: (a) the platform fails to assign the minimum number of testers (20); (b) a critical platform error prevents the testing cycle from completing; or (c) other exceptional circumstances as determined by us. Refund requests must be submitted within 30 days of the testing cycle completion via our contact form.

6.3. No Guarantee of Google Approval: Payment for the Services does not guarantee that Google will approve your app for production access. No refunds will be issued solely because Google rejected your app.

6.4. Free (Barter) Tier: Credits are non-refundable, non-transferable, and have no cash value. Credits are earned by completing 14-day testing streaks and spent to submit your own app for testing.

6.5. Tester Payments: Micro-payments to testers for completed premium app testing are processed at the sole discretion of the platform administrators. Payment amounts and schedules are determined by us and may change without notice.

7. Anti-Fraud Policy

7.1. We employ automated EXIF metadata scanning, manual review, and other fraud detection measures.

7.2. Any user found engaging in fraudulent activity — including but not limited to fake screenshots, emulator usage, bot activity, multiple accounts, or manipulation of the credit system — will have their account permanently banned.

7.3. Banned users forfeit all credits, pending payments, and any right to refunds.

7.4. We reserve the right to pursue legal action against users who engage in fraud.

8. Intellectual Property

8.1. The Services, including all content, features, and functionality, are owned by androidtester.io and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

8.2. Developers retain all rights to their submitted apps. By submitting an app, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to display app information (name, package ID) on the platform for the purpose of facilitating testing.

8.3. Testers retain no rights to the apps they test. Testers must not reverse-engineer, decompile, or distribute any app accessed through the platform.

8.4. AI-generated reports are provided to the Developer who paid for the testing cycle. We retain no ownership of the report content.

9. User Content

9.1. You are solely responsible for all content you upload, submit, or transmit through the Services ("User Content"), including screenshots, photos, survey responses, and app information.

9.2. You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to submit your User Content and that it does not violate any third party's rights.

9.3. We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms or is otherwise objectionable, without notice.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:

• The Services will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
• Your app will be approved by Google Play for production access
• A specific number of testers will be assigned (though we aim for 25, the minimum target is 20)
• The quality, accuracy, or completeness of any tester feedback or AI-generated reports
• The results obtained from the use of the Services will meet your requirements

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL ANDROIDTESTER.IO, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:

• Your access to or use of (or inability to access or use) the Services
• Any conduct or content of any third party on the Services
• Any content obtained from the Services
• Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content
• Google's rejection of your app for production access
• Any actions taken by testers on their devices

OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICES SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless androidtester.io, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including attorney's fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Services; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third party's rights; (d) your User Content; or (e) any app you submit to the platform.

13. Dispute Resolution and Arbitration

13.1. Informal Resolution: Before filing any formal dispute, you agree to first contact us at support@androidtester.io and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.

13.2. Binding Arbitration: Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services that cannot be resolved informally shall be resolved by binding arbitration, rather than in court, except that you may assert claims in small claims court if your claims qualify.

13.3. Class Action Waiver: YOU AND ANDROIDTESTER.IO AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN YOUR OR ITS INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY, AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

15. Account Termination

15.1. You may delete your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting us.

15.2. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice, including but not limited to violations of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or abuse of the platform.

15.3. Upon termination, your right to use the Services will immediately cease. Any credits, pending payments, or other benefits associated with your account may be forfeited.

16. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Services.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid or unenforceable provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable.

18. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and androidtester.io regarding the Services and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, and communications.
